Heathfield Academy, Croydon

Heathfield Academy is part of our batch of Croydon based schemes and is part of the Step Academy Trust. The academy caters for 420 pupils and boasts two Halls, ICT Suites, Library and a roof top Learning Deck. It will also cater for children with special educational needs with specialised Therapy spaces.

West Thornton Primary Academy

The site at Canterbury Road will be home to a new 2 FE Primary School, arranged over 3 floors and will provide an additional 420 school places once complete. The design of the building has been tailored specifically to the Synaptic Trust's requirements for teaching and learning, such as double sized classrooms to teach both forms of entry.

Green Ridge Primary Academy will be a 3FE school with Nursery and is due to open in September 2017 within temporary accommodation with the permanent building due to open a year later.

Emmbrook School

Emmbrook is a 6FE Secondary School which specialises in Maths and English. The new Maths block is a 2 storey 972sqm building with 10 classrooms, 2 SEN classes plus Staff and Admin areas. The new building replaces the existing temporary accommodation on the site.

The design of the new school was principally driven by an educational brief developed by the design team, but it also needed to successfully respond to landscaping and environmental concerns, such as the school’s new prominence and whether the re-positioning of the school would satisfy local detractors.

Bettridge School

The scheme takes best advantage of the exterior spaces and orientation to ensure that the interiors are naturally lit, ventilated and airy. The exterior of the school clearly identifies through its form, the purpose and agenda of the various parts of the school whilst also ensuring a safe learning environment for pupils.

Kendrick School is a top ranking selective girls school and required expansion to their increasing popular sixth form centre. The design was to accommodate an increase of 50 students up to maximum of 250, as well as providing a modern light and inviting building to want to learn in.

Burcarts, Colchester

The intention for Burcarts was for the building to engage with the public nature of the street whilst also driving the desire for high quality design. The building also needed to follow existing indented urban grain whilst also offering high quality, secure and usable amenity space.

St Giles in Peckham is a 64 apartment key worker building which has a mixture of studio, one and two bedroom apartments and also provides accommodation for the St Giles Locality through South London and Maudsley NHS trust.

Canada House, Surrey

The existing buildings at Canada House did not lend themselves to the most efficient use of space. This led us to try and create a design that not only gave a more attractive layout for residents but also to try and rationalise the street whilst helping the views from within the apartments.

High Ashurst, Leisure

The brief for High Ashurst was to create a wide-open space for learning and self-discovery in the natural environment. The project provides for spacious living quarters whilst also providing facilities for disabled children.

Dunnock Way, Retail

The Design of the centre was carefully developed to adopt a modulus form. This allows the building to be flexible in layout where future demands on the centre can be easily altered without large-scale shut downs and disruptions.

The Meadway, Workplace

The Meadway office and workplace was a joint design in connection with the Avenue School. Due to the nature of the disabled needs within the school element of the design it meant that all office facilities had to be catered for on upper floors of the development.
